LumaBill is a Swiss QR-Bill and invoice generator built specifically for Swiss freelancers and KMUs. Our core promise is simple: fast, pixel-perfect invoicing that respects your privacy—no mandatory signups, no cloud uploads required for basic use.
How it started
It started with a friend complaining about his Excel invoice template. He needed a compliant Swiss QR-Bill but didn’t want to pay monthly fees for bloated accounting software just to send a few bills a month.
"Hold my coffee," I said.
I spent a weekend over-engineering a solution. The goal was to build something that ran entirely in the browser—generating PDFs client-side so no private data had to leave his laptop. I posted the story on LinkedIn, it went viral, and suddenly thousands of Swiss users were visiting the site. That validation turned a weekend project into LumaBill.
Who's behind LumaBill
I'm Chris Sandrini, a Swiss developer based in Zurich. LumaBill is built and run by me as a solo founder. I understand the frustration of complex enterprise tools when you just need to get paid.
My focus is on solving real invoicing pain points for local freelancers and small businesses in a pragmatic way. I build features because they solve problems, not to chase features.
Why privacy and Switzerland matter
In LumaBill’s Guest Mode, all invoice generation happens locally in your browser. Your client data, invoice items, and bank details aren’t uploaded to any server.
As a Swiss product, LumaBill aligns with our local expectations for data protection, precision, and transparency. We support the official ISO 20022 Swiss QR-Bill standard out of the box.
